The Sprial Staircase

Ok so here's another one of those psychotic old mystery movies that I like to watch. This was recommended to me by a girl at work. Same one who recommended Donkey Skin. She knows lots of movies. Sometimes I like her recommendations, sometimes I don't. This one I sort of liked. It got my adrenaline going just enough. So anyway this was the story of a small town with a murderer in it who goes after people with disabilities. There's this girl who is mute and she becomes a potential victim. It's pretty intense. When the murder is around, you never see his whole self, you just see his eye and they zoom in a bunch on it. Kind of cheesy, but it's at those moments that I can jump and grab onto my dog so I like it. The main thing I liked the most about this movie though was Dorothy McGuire, the girl who played the mute girl... the lead. Almost the entire movie she doesn't talk at all, yet somehow she still keeps you fascinated with her every move. So yeah I liked this movie. Then again maybe it's just one of those weird obscure movies that I like that everyone else thinks is strange. Well g'night.

I Was a Male War Bride

Wow I have a lot of movies that could go up here, but I'll just do whatever I most recently watched when I feel like writing a blog :) So here's a Carey Grant movie I really liked. What Carey Grant movies do I not like? Seriously... wait I can think of one(That Touch of Mink) but I like Cary Grant. He's probably one of my favorite actors. Anyway I thought this movie was pretty funny. My dad has had to put up a lot with all the intricacies of the army so my family related well to this movie. I had no idea who the supporting actress was. I'm used to watching lots of well known people up there next to him. My mom thought this lady (Ann Sheridan) looked drunk all the time :). She did have pretty big eyes with darkness around them, kind of like Perry Mason. She reminded me of Joan Crawford. Did she do drugs? Her name was Kathryn in the movie, but I think she spelled it wrong. I'm not so sure whether or not I do drugs though:) Why else would some weirdo have a blog to analyze old movies she watches? Jk Apparently though she's really beautiful. Who knows maybe she is famous. Is she? Well anyway I liked this movie. A good Carey Grant movie without much kissing:). And it had real footage of post war Germany which was interesting. My favorite parts are when Carey Grant accidentally goes up with a rail road track mathinger... I shouldn't try to describe it and when he has to wear a wig made from a horse's tail to look like a girl. So yeah I really liked this movie. Who recommended it to me?I can't remember. Was it one of my old roommates? Or someone from high school? Well anyway thanks whoever you are. Great recommendation.
