Movies I need to write about eventually, or have already written about

-JOA asked me for my favorite old movies and here's what I sent. I'm keeping it for historical purposes.
1)LAURA: Film noir; Gene Tierney, Dana Andrews, Clifton Webb and Vincent Price; Some girl is murdered... but was she? Good whodunit movie. My favorite music for sure. Great special features story of Gene Tierney's life if you get a dvd.
3)MIDNIGHT LACE: Mystery; Doris Day and Rex Harrison(no singing); In England some girl has a stalker. The end. Like the music at the beginning;)
2)DONKEY SKIN: French; Catherine Devenue Okay this is a really weird movie, but it's great and it's French so you might like it. It's pretty much the French Cinderella, but weird. Oh and Catherine Devenue is also in THE UMBRELLAS OF CHERBURG which is a good French all-singing movie that Mom and Dad watched on one of their first dates at BYU. While we're on French movies you should see HE LOVES ME HE LOVES ME NOT and AMELIE if you haven't already. They're newer though. And LA CHEVRE.
15)CONDORMAN: Comedy; Michael Crawford(Phantom of the Oprea guy); Comic book writer who tests out his comics before he writes them. Has a sweet car.
4)LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN: Drama; Gene Tierney; This is where I get the psychotic movie reputation. This girl gets so jealous she's willing to watch a disabled boy drown because he's taking attention away from her. It makes you think and I like Gene Tierney almost as much as Audrey Hepburn. But yes psychotic movie. It's off of a book. Have you read it?
-FOLLOW THE FLEET: Musical; Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers; Mom and Dad like these movies a lot. They're all the same. But fun.
-SUDDEN FEAR: Mystery; Joan Crawford; Psychotic. Joan Crawford has good scared eyes.
-ANNIE GET YOUR GUN: Musical; don't remember who's in it, but remember liking it.
AUDREY HEPBURN: (You've probably already seen all these)
5)ROMAN HOLIDAY (Gregory Peck)
6)Charade(Carey Grant)
- Sabrina (Humphrey Bogart beats Harrison Ford)
-My Fair Lady
-Breakfast at Tiffany's
14)FUNNY FACE(with Fred Astaire- pretty dresses and photography)
-How to Steal a Million
ALFRED HITCHCOCK:
7)Vertigo: my favorite US Hitchcock?(Jimmy Stewart, Kim Novak)
-North by Northwest(Carey Grant)
-To Catch a Thief(Grace K)
16)Lady Vanishes
-The Wrong Man(Henry Fonda)
-The Birds
-Rear Window(Jimmy Stewart)
13)Dial M for Murder(Grace Kelly)
-Stage Fright
12)NOTORIOUS(Carey Grant, Ingrid Bergman)
-REBECCA
-SABOTAGE
20)THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH(also The Man Who Knew Too Little with Bill Murray)
17)Spell bound(Gregory Peck an Ingrid Bergman)
22)The Young and Innocent: my favorite British Hitchcock?
CAREY GRANT:
8)I WAS A MALE WAR BRIDE
-Walk Don't Run
11)An Affair to Rember(With Debra Kerr)
JERRY LEWIS: Scared Stiff, The Nutty Professor, 18)The Disorderly Orderly, Family Jewels,
ABBOTT AND COSTELLO: Hold that Ghost, Buck Privates, Meet the Mummy,
DON KNOTTS: The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, How to Frame a Figg, The Shakiest Gun in the West, The reluctant Astronaut, Apple Dumpling Gang
21)JANE EYRE: Joan Fontaine, Orson Wells, Kind of comparable to the book
-THE PAJAMA GAME: Musical with Dorris Day
19)MY DREAM IS YOURS: Dorris again
-YOURS MINE AND OURS: Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda with huge families
-HIGH SOCIETY: Grace Kelley, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra
9)The Philadelphia Story: Same as High Society but with Carey Grant, Jimmy Stewart and KATHARINE HEPBURN
-Woman of the Year: Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy
-African Queen: Katharine and Humphrey Bogart-really long
BARBRA STREISAND
-Hello Dolly
-On a Clear Day(You can see forever)

Perry Mason

So I really shouldn't be writing a blog right now, but I just realized that I haven't ever written about Perry Mason(I haven't written about a lot of things, but Perry Mason has been rescuing me from way too much studying this week). Even though Perry Mason isn't a movie(although Perry Mason movies have been made) I think fifties TV shows deserve more attention. And who can resist those raccoon eyes;) of Raymond Burr? I discovered Perry Mason a couple years ago. The only problem was it was only on at 11:30 at night and my mom wanted me in bed. So I'd steal Greg's miniature TV and watch Perry Mason every night in bed. He's so great! Watching Perry Mason has probably contributed a lot to my strong opinions against the death penalty. Every episode there's someone with all the evidence pointing at them and Perry Mason defends them and makes the real murderer come out and confess in court(that's the best part of every episode!). My favorite thing to do during the summer is get a nice tall glass of chocolate milk with Nutella and Ritz crackers and watch Perry Mason with my mom and Mahanna. My brothers make fun of us, but Perry Mason is the best! Not to mention Perry Mason has the bestest theme music of any TV show ever! Long live Perry Mason!!!Yay!!
